Q: WHAT PIECE OF ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE YOUR TWENTY-YEAR OLD SELF?

Compete in every sport you have the opportunity to do so. You can always learn from competitions, and it brings out your best performance.

Q: WHAT LESSONS HAVE YOU LEARNED FROM FITNESS THAT HAVE SERVED YOU THROUGHOUT YOUR LIFE?

There isn't any obstacle in life that can't be overcome, mental, physical, or emotional. Overcoming physical obstacles on a daily basis through fitness has helped me tackle any other obstacle in life by having a positive mindset.

Q: WHAT KEEPS YOU MOTIVATED?

My health and happiness will always drive me to stay motivated. I live in one of the greatest cities in the US (San Diego) and have surrounded myself with the most genuine and supportive people.

Q: WHAT’S THE ONE WORKOUT YOU ALWAYS DREAD? WHAT’S THE ONE WORKOUT YOU ALWAYS LOOK FORWARD TO? WHY?

The Murph is a workout I always dread. The only reason why this comes to mind is because I always hit it with a high intensity and it always catches up with me the next day. My favorite workouts are partner relays. If you have a competitive partner, it really pushes you to perform and keeps you accountable during the workout.

Q: WITH ANY NEW MODALITY YOU GET INTO, HOW DO YOU APPROACH IT IN ORDER TO MASTER?

Surrounding yourself with the top individuals of that specific modality. By being about the best you can start adopting similar traits in order to succeed.

Q: HOW DO YOU EMBRACE THE “BETTER THAN YESTERDAY” MINDSET IN YOUR DAY-TO-DAY?

Constantly learning is how I approach the "better than yesterday" mindset. Being open and willing to grow is the fastest way to becoming the best version of oneself.

Q: DO YOU HAVE A FAVORITE FAILURE? HOW HAS THAT SET YOU UP FOR LATER SUCCESS?

Competing at my first world championship obstacle course race. I came in wildly unprepared and definitely misjudged my level of fitness. I ended up having full body cramps to the point where all my muscles locked up and had a very difficult time finishing the race. This experience in itself helped me become a better athlete because I knew I was always capable of more.

Q: WHAT’S ON YOUR FITNESS BUCKET LIST?

Turkish Get Up a 200lbs Yoke Rack, Have the world record for the fastest mile with a 70lbs sandbag, Run and complete the American Ninja Warrior course... the list goes on!

STRONGMAN MARATHON

FEATS OF STRENGTH

Michael Miraglia is setting his sights on a challenge that has never been completed, let alone attempted. His unheard of challenge is the Strongman Marathon: 26.2 back-to-back miles with each mile being its own test and bringing its own set of challenges. A mile of burpees, a mile tire flip, a mile handstand walk, and a mile 300lb yoke carry are just a few of the 26 miles staring him down. READ ON
