Ten Thousand and Thosh Collins have teamed up on a limited edition WHIRLWIND collection. As the founder of the non-profit Well For Culture, which combines ancestral teachings with the latest information and scientific discoveries to reclaim and revitalize Indigenous health and wellness, Thosh commits himself to mastering intense physical and mental feats to spur adaptations of both mind and body. Growing up as an On Akimel O’Odham person on the Salt River reservation in Arizona, Thosh was fascinated by the whirlwinds that swept through the desert. As he made physical movement a priority in his life, he increasingly saw whirlwinds as the ultimate symbols of strength and fluidity. “I think of the whirlwind and its power and fitness moving swiftly across the desert, not letting anything stand in its way,” he said. “In life and in physical movement, let it be a part of your lifeways to emulate the whirlwind’s primary motion: upward.” For Thosh, the whirlwind is a constant reminder to rise up to meet the challenges in front of us.
